The position of a rider's body on hills results in different muscle fibers being
recruited compared to those used on the flat. For
sport specific indoor training for riding
hills it is important that the bike be at the angle it would be on the road so that
the correct muscle recruitment is taking place. The new CompuTrainer Climber model
helps to achieve this by allowing the rider to manually fix the climbing angle from
2.5 degrees to 20 degrees in steps of 2.5 degrees. At angles above 10 degrees most riders
will be out of the saddle which the Climber facilitates. The combination of the
correct load which the CompuTrainer has always supplied, and the correct bike angle
supplied by the Climber, will improve your hill climbing capability.
The CompuTrainer Climber model incorporates the RacerMate Front Fork Support Stand
equipped with a stainless steel Angle Adaptor assembly to establish bike angles
of 0, 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10, 12.5, 15, 17.5 and 20 degrees. At the 0 degree position the
bike is horizontal. If desired the Front Fork Support Stand can be unbolted, the
front wheel mounted on the bike frame, and the CompuTrainer utillized in its standard
form.
